The Law School of Zanzibar (LSZ) which was established under the Law School of Zanzibar Act No. 13 of 2019, calls for online applications to join the Law School of Zanzibar for a one-year practical legal training for persons wishing to train to be qualified advocates, and for six months practical legal training for persons wishing to be qualified vakils to practice at the Kadhis Courts and the Primary Magistrate Courts in Zanzibar. The application period will start from 30th of October to 8th of December, 2023. Only persons with first degree in law from recognized universities by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) are allowed to apply for admission.
For persons wishing to join the Vakil Course they must hold a Diploma in Law from a University or an Institution recognized by the Government.
The practical legal training programmes are expected to start on 15th January, 2024.
